At Respite with Linda, we know how important it is for parents to feel their child is truly understood and cared for. Our small, autism-friendly service offers limited weekend places in a safe, homelike setting where children can explore, connect, and be themselves — while parents enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing their child is happy and supported.

We are a unique, family-owned weekend respite service based in Morayfield, with a strong focus on supporting autistic children and their families. With only six children per weekend and a 1:3 staff ratio, we provide highly individualised support while also encouraging friendships and group fun.

Each weekend is thoughtfully planned to balance adventure, creativity, and calm. Children enjoy outings such as bushwalks, playgrounds, and local attractions, along with hands-on activities like arts and crafts, Lego, baking, and imaginative play. Quiet spaces and sensory-friendly downtime are always available, ensuring comfort and choice.

Predictable routines help reduce anxiety and build confidence, while our caring and qualified team provides neurodiversity-affirming support that celebrates every child’s strengths and identity. Families trust us because we combine safe, structured fun for children with genuine peace of mind for parents.

Respite with Linda is more than a service — it’s a small, trusted community where children feel at home, and parents can rest, recharge, and reconnect.

Approach

At Respite with Linda, we recognise autism as part of the natural diversity of human experience. We focus on strengths, interests, and individual needs, rather than deficits, and tailor our support so every child feels respected, safe, and valued.

We provide small-group weekend respite with a 1:3 staff ratio, predictable routines, and supportive environments that reduce stress. Activities are flexible, interest-based, and designed to build confidence and social skills while honouring each child’s pace and preferences.

Children are encouraged to make choices, share their interests, and participate in ways that feel right for them. We offer quiet spaces, sensory breaks, and adaptations for sound, light, or movement, ensuring comfort and authenticity are prioritised in every activity.

Linda and her team are wonderful with the children, they’re trained professionals who you can trust to keep your child/children safe. If it wasn’t for Linda and her team of staff I would never get any sort of respite, have been using these services for quite a few years now. Keep up the great work and thank you for everything you do for my special little man.

My niece always comes home from a weekend with Linda with a big smile and loads to talk about. She feels very safe and can't wait for her next weekend away with Linda and the crew. She has made many friends and enjoys all the activities and little excursions.
