Equine Therapy and Animal Assisted Social Work sessions are led by trained and registered social workers who guide participants through safe, structured interactions with horses and other animals. These sessions are designed to help address emotional and psychological challenges while supporting personal growth and well-being. These sessions can also be tailored to support participants to meet their NDIS goals.
The goal of these sessions is to help participants better understand their thoughts, behaviours, and emotional responses in a supportive, therapeutic setting. This helps individuals develop a deeper self-awareness, assists with emotional regulation and empowers participants to make choices with greater confidence and clarity in their lives.
At SCSWS, our sessions are grounded in evidence-based practices, incorporating a trauma-informed approach and client led experiential learning opportunities.
Equine Therapy and Animal Assisted Social Work Sessions are for children 5 years and older, young people and adults. No previous horse or animal experience is required.
