Bright Futures Psychology is a child, adolescent, and family-focused psychology practice based in Burpengary, supporting clients across Moreton Bay and beyond through both in-person and Telehealth appointments. We specialise in assessment and therapy for children, teens, and young adults, with a strong focus on neurodivergence.

Our services include diagnostic assessments for Autism, ADHD, and learning differences, therapy and intervention for emotional regulation, anxiety, and mood challenges, as well as parenting support and coaching. We understand that families often seek guidance at times of stress, uncertainty, or change, and we aim to provide clear, practical strategies that make a real difference in daily life.

At Bright Futures Psychology, we believe that every young person deserves to be understood for who they are, not just the challenges they face. Our therapeutic approach is warm, down-to-earth, and evidence-based, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play and creative interventions, and parent support models.

We also recognise the importance of collaboration and work closely with parents, schools, and other professionals to ensure support is holistic and well-integrated. With funding options available through Medicare, NDIS (self and plan-managed), and private health insurance, we strive to make services as accessible as possible.

Approach

At Bright Futures Psychology, we take a neuroaffirming approach that recognises that autistic people thrive when their strengths are recognised and supported. In practice, this means our therapy and assessment processes are collaborative, flexible, and tailored to the individual. We prioritise sensory considerations in sessions, for example offering options for quiet spaces, movement breaks, and the use of fidgets or other regulation tools. Clients are encouraged to express themselves in ways that feel natural and authentic, whether through speech, writing, drawing, or play.

Our goal is to provide an environment where autistic children and young people feel understood, safe, and valued. By supporting both the individual and their family, we aim to build confidence, resilience, and practical strategies that support wellbeing across home, school, and community life.
