Workshops with Miss Bree

Tweed Heads

ABN/ACN:

90618551740

I’m Bree — a primary school teacher at an autism-specialist school in Tweed Heads, as well as a dance teacher with over eight years of experience working with children, including those with additional needs. I’m passionate about creating inclusive, joyful spaces where every child feels safe, celebrated and free to be themselves.

Alongside my Education degree, I hold qualifications in Dance, Pilates, and Yoga, and I’m fully certified in First Aid, CPR, and Youth Mental Health First Aid. I also maintain a current Working With Children Check and Public Liability Insurance, ensuring all sessions are professional and safe.

Each session includes a fun, engaging dance and movement class designed to build confidence, coordination and creativity. Children also enjoy hands-on art and craft experiences, with activities rotating daily to match your child’s interests. Options include:

🎀 Headband Making
🧸 Make Your Own Squishy
✨ Pen or Wand Making
🎄 Christmas Craft
🎨 Paint a Hat
🌈 Playdough & Keychains
💧 Slime & Bracelet Making
🪣 Oobleck & Watercolours

My goal is for every child to walk away feeling proud, calm, and connected — with something special they’ve created and a smile on their face.

Approach to supporting autistic individuals:

My approach is grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming understanding of autism that recognises autistic individuals as whole, capable, and unique. I support children by celebrating their strengths, respecting their communication styles, and honouring their sensory and emotional needs.

In practice, my sessions offer flexibility, choice, and predictability. I use clear, gentle communication, visual supports when needed, and step-by-step guidance to reduce stress and create a sense of safety. Activities are adaptable in pace, structure, and sensory input, allowing each child to participate in ways that feel comfortable for them. If a child needs movement breaks, quiet time, lower stimulation, or alternative materials, these accommodations are encouraged without pressure.

Children are supported to express their identity through movement, creativity, and play. Whether it’s through dance, crafting, or imaginative exploration, every child is encouraged to engage in a way that feels authentic. I aim to foster autonomy by offering choice-making opportunities, celebrating special interests, and creating an environment where stimming, regulating, and being oneself are welcomed.

Through this approach, the service strives to provide a safe, joyful, and truly inclusive space where autistic children feel understood, valued, and free to be who they are
