We offer Autistic-led online group mentoring programs for 7–22 year old Autistic/neurodivergent young people. Our program builds confidence and social connection in a safe, positive environment which allows individuals to move at a pace that feels right for them. Each session offers flexibility, so they can engage in a way that meets their needs on the day.

Autistic young people can be unapologetically themselves. They can explore their interests with peers, and build confidence, communication, and social connections along the way whilst benefiting from I CAN Mentors as role models. With over 350 participants each cycle, we are proving our program is effective.

We offer special interest programs such as Roblox, Minecraft, Dungeons & Dragons, Drawing & Art, Transition to High School, Executive Functioning just to name a few!

Approach to supporting autistic individuals:

I CAN views autism very positively. We're proud of our 50% difference which means that 50% of our staff must be autistic, which we exceed annually. Currently we have 83 autistic/neurodivergent staff. We employ a diverse range of autistic identities in our workplace to perform a variety of roles, whether it's CEO, Customer Service Manager, Program Facilitator or Mentor.

I CAN embeds the insights of autistic staff and the extensive feedback from our autistic mentees into our program logic maps and program design. This influences our group mentoring programs and professional development and their subsequent evaluation tools. Staff have structured time during their shifts and annual surveys in which they can contribute to the improvement of neurodiversity-affirming practice in service delivery.

I CAN's 6-week online and 8-week in-person programs engender confidence, belonging, autistic pride and self-acceptance in young people. Staff enjoy our positive autistic culture. Our job satisfaction rating in 2024 was 94%.
