Hinterland Speech Pathology provides in-home or community based support to adults (people 17 years and over) throughout the Sunshine Coast Hinterland community and beyond.
We use our lived experience to provide affirming communication and mealtime support, with the aim of helping people to do what they love to do in life.
Approach
We understand and approach autism through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. This means we see autism not as a disorder to be cured or fixed, but as a natural variation in world perception and/or experience. We reject the "deficit model" of autism and instead focus on a "strengths-based approach".
We offer flexible and personalised support. Support is always goal-focused and can include the education of support networks or upskilling in self-advocacy.
