Bringing therapy to you (and from our Tarragindi clinic)! Pop-up Therapy is a Brisbane-based mobile occupational therapy service supporting children and young people to create a meaningful life through learning, growth, and connection. Our goal at Pop-Up Therapy is to partner with the young people and families that we support to help them achieve their goals and acquire the skills they need to live an enriched and fulfilled life.

Our practice is founded upon a strengths-based approach, meaning that we value the uniqueness of all individuals and strive to empower all young people to continually grow, learn and to become the absolute best version of themselves. Our services include:

Individual Therapy
Our one-on-one occupational therapy sessions are tailored to each person’s unique needs, focusing on skill development in areas such as emotional regulation, sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, executive functioning, and social participation. By delivering therapy in real-life settings, we help individuals build confidence and independence in their daily activities.

Therapy Groups
We run small groups that provide opportunities for children to develop social connections, emotional regulation, and community independence in a fun and supportive environment. These groups encourage peer interactions and skill-building through play, movement, and community involvement.

Assessments
We conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and areas for support. Our assessments inform individualised therapy plans, the NDIS and provide families and educators with valuable insights into a child’s development, functional skills, and support needs.

Education & Professional Development
Pop-Up Therapy offers workshops and training sessions for parents, educators, and professionals. Our professional development workshops cover topics such as sensory processing, behavior support, executive functioning, and inclusive teaching strategies, equipping participants with practical tools to support neurodivergent individuals effectively.

Approach to supporting autistic individuals:

At Pop-Up Therapy, we recognise autism as a natural part of human neurodiversity. We approach autism from a strengths-based perspective—understanding that each autistic person has unique ways of experiencing, processing, and interacting with the world. Our therapists aim to celebrate individuality rather than focus on “fixing” or “normalising” differences. We prioritise respect, collaboration, and autonomy in every interaction with clients and families.

Our therapy is guided by neurodiversity-affirming principles, meaning we adapt our goals and approach to align with each person’s values, individual profiles, and styles. We focus on building meaningful participation in everyday life. Our mobile service model allows therapy to occur in natural, comfortable environments homes, schools, and community spaces—where real-world skills and confidence can develop. We also ensure that our group therapies, such as TeenFIT, promote inclusion, self-advocacy, and wellbeing rather than competition or conformity.

We work closely with each individual to understand people's preferences and sensory needs, adjusting our environments and activities accordingly. Clients are encouraged to communicate in ways that feel authentic to them, whether through speech, AAC, movement, or play. We value self-expression and self-determination, and we advocate for each client’s right to be accepted as they are. Our team continually engages in professional learning to ensure our practices evolve alongside the lived experiences and voices of autistic people.
