What our sessions support

Each child’s needs are unique, so our sessions are designed to be flexible, targeted, and deeply supportive. Depending on the group and individual goals, sessions may include a focus on the following areas:

Executive Functioning Skills
Helping children strengthen flexible thinking, working memory, self-control, and perseverance — essential skills for daily life, learning, and transitions.

Social & Emotional Development
Building skills in turn-taking, play, friendship, conflict resolution, and emotional understanding. We support children in recognising, regulating, and expressing their emotions in ways that feel safe and manageable.

Cognitive & Independence Skills
Encouraging independent thinking and decision-making through structured and play-based activities. Focus areas may include following instructions, using logic, problem-solving, visual processing, and inference skills.

Neuro-affirming approach

We support our participants by adopting a neuro-affirming approach. We focus on helping our participants to find their authentic selves and develop skills that align with their values. This can include:

  • Building self-esteem and promoting independence
  • Understanding the differences in social communication styles for different neurotypes and validating all
  • Developing self-advocacy skills
  • Identifying emotions and vocabulary to help develop self-awareness and other-awareness
  • Understanding supports and accommodations that are vital to success
