We believe getting lost in your creativity helps you find who you are. That our range of psycho-educational and artful counselling programs can empower teens, tweens, children and adults to live a heartful life. Focusing on supporting neurodiverse students, Creative Connection allows their true colours to shine.

Creative Connection is an artful counselling provider. We create emotional literacy programs underpinned by the latest academic journals, thought-leadership reference books, psychology studies and techniques. We’re avid advocates of psychologist Daniel Goleman, who highlighted the wealth of opportunity that emotional intelligence holds. And we use this knowledge to guide neurodiverse teens, tweens and children to boost their emotional wellbeing.

Founder, Jen, is an ACA-accredited Level 3 Master Counsellor. She adapts the group discussions based on the experiences and needs of the budding artists. Plus, she brings her wealth of experience as a former school guidance counsellor and visual arts teacher to every session.

Group and individual counselling available.

Our daughter has been attending Creative Connection for the past 2&1/2 years and has grown in confidence to create her own content based around the themes provided for each session and loves the inclusive safe environment to share her experiences/emotions with peers. Jen creates a safe space for children to express themselves. Highly recommend her classes for personal development and growth.

Jen at Creative Connection has been an absolute blessing for my son and family. As a child with multiple diagnosis, we have had multiple challenges at school both socially and emotionally. Then we found Creative Connection. Jen is a master qualified counsellor with teaching experience, who provides a wonderful social skills program and group counselling session combined with a fun and accessible art class. Through her in studio Empower programs, children can share their experiences and build their confidence and skills. My son, who has always tired of previous attempts with therapy, and other recreational classes and sports, is always excited to attend his art classes with Jen. Each week he proudly shows off his artwork after class, and as any parent of a child with challenging behaviour can attest, it is amazing to see him bloom with praise, rather than wilt after correction. We travel from 45 minutes away to attend and have found that his self confidence has grown, and this opportunity to celebrate and praise him has been so wonderful.

Jen’s programs are thoughtfully designed to support teens through difficult subject matter in a creative and engaging way. She brings warmth, compassion, and a gentle, accepting approach to her sessions, creating a safe and supportive space where teens can express themselves freely. Her classes blend fun, art-based projects with important discussions, fostering peer support, normalisation, friendship, and social development—all guided with care. As a counsellor with over 20 years of experience working with students, and as someone who teaches counselling, I have been deeply impressed by the quality of Jen’s work. While I have no affiliation with the business beyond my own tween/teen daughter attending, I can confidently say that both Jen’s manner and the structure of her classes are excellent. Highly recommended!
