Welcome to Empower Autism!

Empower Autism is a Magandjin-based not-for-profit, designed by Autistic people, for Autistic people. We work alongside our Autistic community, to empower Autistic people through programs focused on peer connection, self-advocacy and employment mentorship, and work to break down barriers faced by Autistic people, by providing professional neuro-inclusion education to a range of organisations, employers and institutions.

We deliver our programs at a range of locations within the Greater Brisbane area, as well as online across Australia.

Approach to supporting autistic individuals

Empower Autism is an Autistic-led organisation, which envisions a world where Autistic people may participate, contribute and succeed to their fullest potential with confidence and self-belief. We actively strive to include Autistic voices within every area of our organisation, from our board to our programs development and delivery.

We view Autistic identity through the social model of disability, and believe that Autistic people's experiences and culture go far beyond just a medical diagnosis. We respect the right to self-identification and work to create authentically inclusive spaces where Autistic people feel safe to express themselves, their needs and their interests.

The admin is incompetent, (probably due to the high staff turnover rate), and the girl who currently runs the 'peer support groups' spends the whole time on her phone.
