Forbes Care is an Occupational Therapy-only organisation proudly serving communities across South-East Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Moreton Bay, and North Brisbane. We are a values-led, purpose-driven practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, community-based OT services across the lifespan. Our team of experienced Occupational Therapists supports individuals under a range of funding streams, including NDIS, DVA, and HCP.

Our services span across paediatrics, mental health, functional capacity assessments, assistive technology prescription, complex home modifications, housing assessments (including SDA/SIL), life skills development, and sensory regulation support. We provide services in-home, in clinic, via Telehealth, or within the community, depending on the individual’s preference and needs.

At Forbes Care, our therapists prioritise respectful, collaborative therapy that adapts to each person’s communication style, sensory preferences, and goals. We work to create safe, empowering spaces that honour autonomy, build trust, and reduce demands where appropriate.

Whether we’re supporting a young child learning to self-regulate, a teenager building independence, or an adult navigating the demands of everyday life, our approach is functional, person-centred, and strengths-based. We also work closely with families, support coordinators, educators, and support workers to ensure consistent, coordinated care.

At Forbes Care, we are passionate about helping individuals live authentically, thrive in their environment, and achieve their goals — on their terms. We don’t just provide therapy; we walk alongside people in their everyday lives with compassion, curiosity, and care.

Approach

At Forbes Care, we take a neurodiversity-affirming approach, recognising it as a natural part of human diversity. Our Occupational Therapists focus on each individual’s strengths, interests, and goals, while working closely with families, schools, and communities to provide consistent, practical support. In practice, this means tailoring therapy to the person, respecting authentic forms of communication and identity, and creating sensory-informed environments that promote comfort and participation.

We provide tools such as assistive technology, sensory strategies, and visual supports, while encouraging choice and self-expression. Above all, we value each person’s right to feel safe, respected, and empowered to live authentically.

Our OT Louise I highly recommend. Her knowledge, support and patient manner has made such a huge difference not only in my life but my children’s. She’s definitely helped me understand and give helpful strategies to support my three unique children. My kids adore her and look forward to every session.
