This group supports the development of play skills in children with similar play abilities. For our younger ASD Level 3 kids, the group would focus on early play skills, including pretend play, imitation, joint attention, and developing social skills in play.
Increase play flexibility by helping participants to try new ideas, tolerate small changes, and expand how they use toys and materials. Developing age-appropriate/ level of pretend play skills by encouraging imitation, play sequences and toy character play. Support development of social interaction in play (parallel, associative, cooperative etc.)
