OT Done Differently provides affirming and empowering occupational therapy for neurodivergent adults and families.

If you or your child are:

  • Struggling to keep up with home, school, or work life
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed by a big life change or transition
  • Know what you want to do (e.g., access the community, get a new job, learn to cook) but don’t know where or how to start

OT Done Differently can help you:

  • Identify what matters most, and where to start
  • Understand what’s really getting in the way
  • Build strategies that fit your life
  • Learn why they work, so you can adapt them later

Our approach to OT is:

  • Structured & Clear – a clear roadmap with predictability and transparency from the beginning. You’ll know what to expect, what we’re working towards, and roughly how we’ll get there.
  • Focused – we work on one priority at a time, not everything at once.
  • Parent/Carer Centred (for child clients) – designed to increase your confidence and capacity to support.

Meet Chris, the OT behind OT Done Differently! She:

  • Has firsthand neurodivergent experience (ADHDer)
  • Is an experienced, Senior OT focused on practical, real life solutions backed by research and evidence

Approach to supporting autistic individuals

OT Done Differently values and embraces affirming practices. This means:

- We don’t believe in “fixing” people. You're not broken. Your child isn't broken. Your brain isn't broken. The systems and the spaces around you might be, but not you. We'll work together to co-create strategies that help to minimise the barriers created by those systems - so you can do more of the things you want to do in ways that work for you.

- We strive to recognise and honour differences of all kinds - they make us who we are and we think they make life far more interesting. Flexibility and options are built into our services and our approach. We don't just ask about needs and preferences, we find ways to make sure we can honour them. And if for some reason we can't, we'll be honest about that too.

- We aim to create spaces where people feel safe and comfortable to show up as they are.

- Goals/Priorities are determined by you and meaningful to your life. And you define what it means to achieve them - not a standardised assessment or societal norm.
