Autistic Led Connection, Community, and Support

Spectrum Social Squad is a proudly Autistic led organisation creating safe, inclusive spaces where Autistic adults can connect, socialise, and thrive without needing to mask or explain themselves.

Founded by Autistic individuals who understand the unique strengths and challenges of the community, we offer peer designed group events and social opportunities tailored to support meaningful connection, personal agency, and well-being.

Our programs are built on lived experience, not outdated stereotypes. We actively reject deficit-based models and instead embrace the diversity of Autistic minds, bodies, and communication styles. Every event is created with a trauma informed, sensory aware, and neurodivergent-friendly approach.

Partner With Us
Spectrum Social Squad welcomes partnerships with community organisations, service providers, and local councils that value authentic, neurodivergent-led support.

Together, we can build a community that celebrates Autistic identity, nurtures connection, and supports long term well being.

Approach to supporting autistic individuals:

Spectrum Social Squad understands autism as a natural part of human diversity. We recognise that autistic people think, communicate, and experience the world in different ways, and we design our services to respect those differences rather than change them. Our approach focuses on reducing barriers, supporting autonomy, and creating safe spaces where autistic adults feel understood and valued.

In practical terms, we provide neurodiversity-affirming support by offering predictable, low-pressure social events with clear information and flexible participation. Our team uses straightforward communication, avoids overwhelming environments, and encourages each person to set their own pace. We prioritise consent, choice, and respect in every interaction.

We support autistic individuals to express their identity by encouraging open communication, allowing stimming, and welcoming different communication styles. We also accommodate sensory needs through quiet areas, low-sensory activity options, controlled lighting and sound, and the freedom to take breaks at any time. Our goal is to ensure every person feels comfortable, safe, and able to be themselves without judgement
