Project SEARCH is an unpaid immersive work-based internship program for young people with a disability who want to transition to paid employment. The Project helps to develop their skills while increasing their confidence and self-esteem in a supportive, tailored, structured real-world environment.
Taking place over 12 months, interns participate in three 11-week internships within a workplace. These internships enable them to learn and engage with different departments and provide them with diverse marketable job skills when they embark on their job-seeking journey. Interns attend the workplace 5 days a week (Monday – Friday) for 6 hours a day, actively engaging in all aspects of the team and work environment, receiving coaching, feedback and ongoing support at every stage.
Who can apply?
Project SEARCH is open to young adults aged 17 – 28 years, with NDIS funding.
Sunshine Coast Internships are held at Buderim Private Hospital.
