The Valleys District Cricket Club All Abilities Cricket Program is a welcoming and inclusive initiative designed to provide neurodiverse children and young adults with the chance to enjoy the fun and camaraderie of cricket. Developed by a passionate mum of a neurodiverse son, this program was created with a deep understanding of the need for safe, supportive, and engaging activities where every participant can thrive. With a focus on inclusion, fun, and gentle skill-building, the All Abilities Cricket Program offers tailored sessions that embrace each individual’s unique strengths, fostering confidence, friendships, and a love for the game—all while creating a positive and understanding community for families.
The Valleys District Cricket Club All Abilities Cricket Program offers two free, fun, and engaging cricket programs designed for neurodiverse participants of all ages and abilities.
The first program is a four-week initiative that caters to children and young adults with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and other learning and perceptual disabilities. It features small group sessions led by Special Olympics certified coaches, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
The second program is a Cricket Training Program for neurodiverse athletes aged 14 years and older, offering opportunities to enjoy social games or pursue competition pathways through the Special Olympics or Queensland Cricket Inclusion Championships. Both programs provide all equipment, and sessions are led by qualified coaches, promoting inclusivity, skill development, and a sense of community.
Our Program runs during Summer, in Term 1 and Term 4.
