Hi! I’m Chantal (she/her), a proudly neurodivergent Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician based in Brisbane, currently providing Telehealth support across Australia. Drawing on both my lived experience and clinical expertise, my aim is to empower neurodivergent individuals of all ages and backgrounds to embrace their unique ways of eating and relating to food.

I believe that every body and brain holds inherent value and deserves compassionate, respectful care. My mission is to support clients in cultivating an authentic and nourishing relationship with food — one that honours sensory differences, diverse eating styles, and the many ways neurodivergence shapes our experiences around nutrition.

Through a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and collaborative approach, I support people to shed shame and guilt related to their eating differences and to foster greater self-acceptance and understanding.

Areas of specialty include:

  • Eating disorders and disordered eating (all presentations, including ARFID)
  • Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, OCD, interoception, executive functioning)
  • Mental health (anxiety, depression, body image concerns)
  • Gut health and gastrointestinal conditions (IBS, IBD, food intolerances, gastroparesis)
  • Hormonal conditions (endometriosis, PCOS)
  • Chronic illness (POTS, hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, fatigue conditions)
  • Vegetarian and vegan nutrition
  • Fertility and pregnancy nutrition
  • Diabetes and blood sugar support
  • Cardiovascular health

Approach

My practice is deeply grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming framework, shaped by both my clinical training and my lived experience as an autistic dietitian. I understand autism not as a deficit, but as a valid and valuable neurotype with its own ways of sensing, processing, moving through, and making meaning in the world.

I support autistic individuals by offering care that is flexible, collaborative, and responsive to sensory and executive functioning needs. I don’t use generic or prescriptive approaches — instead, I work alongside clients (and their support teams if relevant) to co-create nutrition support that feels safe, affirming, and sustainable.

In practical terms, I provide services that:
* Offer flexible session structure, pacing, and timing
* Accommodate different communication preferences (including visual, written, and low-verbal styles), and offer written session summaries to support processing and integration
* Consider sensory needs and preferences both within sessions (e.g., camera off options, reduced verbal load, screen sharing, or pauses between questions) and around food textures, tastes, smells, and presentation to create more comfortable, manageable eating experiences
* Acknowledge and embrace interoceptive differences, and support clients to explore hunger, fullness, and body signals in ways that feel accessible and meaningful to them
* Support clients in exploring, discerning, and honouring food preferences, routines, and rituals as meaningful manifestations of their unique neurodivergent neurotype
* Co-create personalised systems around eating, meal planning, cooking, and food shopping that align with each client’s neurotype, values, and capacities — rather than applying neurotypical frameworks or expectations
* Validate the impacts of burnout, demand avoidance, and energy limitations (including spoon theory)

Consent and collaboration are at the heart of everything I do. I will always do my best to centre autonomy, capacity, and your lived experience. I'm committed to de-experting myself, sharing power, and walking alongside you — not ahead of you — in this work.
