When I created The Playful Life, my vision was clear: to build a space where families feel genuinely seen, supported, and valued. Here, you won’t find layers of administration or impersonal systems. Instead, you’ll connect directly with me—a dedicated partner in your family’s journey.  I provide an environment where your child is more than just a name; they are an individual, embraced for who they are and supported to thrive in their own unique way.

Play therapy is a gentle, therapeutic intervention for families seeking effective and compassionate support for their children’s emotional, behavioural or social needs. This therapeutic modality, founded on research showing that children communicate and process their unconscious feelings and thoughts through play, offers several distinct advantages that make it an excellent choice for children from all walks of life.

Play therapy provides a non-threatening environment where children can express themselves freely in any way they need to. By engaging in play, children can communicate feelings and thoughts they might not yet have the words for, giving therapists a deeper insight into the child’s world, while fostering the child’s autonomy and self-efficacy . Play therapy encourages children to make their own choices and solve problems through play, promoting a sense of control and competence.

I also understand that parenting can be both deeply rewarding and profoundly challenging. I will meet you where you are, offering a calm, supportive hand as we navigate the complexities of family life together. As a mum myself, I know how important it is to have a village—a community that lifts you up when you need it most. My hope is that The Playful Life can be part of that village for your family.

Approach

When working with ND families, I ground all of my work in ensuring that all members of the family feel seen, heard and valued and that their wishes are front and center. I recognise that children play in many different ways and my focus is not on "teaching" children to engage in one type of play, but instead learning to see the world through the child's eyes and finding ways to empower them, build their confidence and find ways forward in areas that they feel stuck.
